Why I created ScanMy.ch for generating QR codes

Over the past few years, I’ve repeatedly tried to use QR codes effectively in my advertising – usually with simple, directly linked codes from my shop page. But over time, a recurring issue emerged: the linked URLs often changed – for example, after a server move or software update – rendering the QR codes on my printed flyers useless.

Designing and distributing new flyers wasn’t just costly; it also meant that all the previous marketing effort was lost.

While searching for a solution, I discovered the concept of dynamic QR codes – a smart idea that allows you to change the target URL later on. Unfortunately, most available services were either too complex, had severe limitations, or required ongoing subscription fees that I found unreasonable in the long run.

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Using custom software and my own server infrastructure, I built a QR code platform that is not only easy to use but also cost-effective, flexible, and built for the long term.

Today, more than 1,000 customers rely on my service – at a price that is hard to beat and especially well-suited for small businesses, associations, and freelancers.
